Paliton Beach is an open beach near San Juan, Siquijor. Most of the local would recommend visiting this beach. It is a good place to chill, relax, read a book, or drink beer, but the water isn't great for swim. There are no sari-sari store or mini grocery near, so bring your beer when going here. As the name implies, it is what you will see. Amazingly, there is a spring at the base of the tree where you can try the fish spa, for a fee. The tree is just near the main road, and the entrance fee is ~Php20 or just minimal, but there is a parking fee for your wheels. 

The patron of this church is San Isidro Labrador. You will pass by this church going to Cambugahay Falls. It is nice to see the old Spanish churches in the Philippines. Across this is the Lazi Convent.

During my first visit, this convent was close, but when I visited in 2019, it was open to the public for a fee. You can see antique collections on the second floor. 

This is a bit far from the main road but the access is concrete, so no worries. you just need to take steep stairs back and forth from the road to reach the falls. Once you reach the falls, locals will encourage you to try the swing then plunge to the water basin. No entrance fee just tips to locals that start at Php20 for unlimited swing. You may try different levels- high, higher, and highest. Definitely you have to try all. If you are too scared, you may swing with a partner and you can also use a life jacket. There are barbeque stands around the area if you get hungry after the unlimited swing.

On your way to the beach, you will pass through the Salagdoong Forest. It's a long road of just trees and gives the riders a cool breeze.

Salagdoong Beach entrance is Php20 per head and you will pay Php10 for Environmental fee. Motorbike parking is Php20. Cottage fee varies.

Salagdoong beach is a private beach and one of the nice beaches of Siquijor. Compared to other Siquijor beaches, Salagdoong water has the best for swimming. It is also known for cliff diving. No entrance fee for dive and they have two levels for cliff jump. Look for signage or ask their staff if safe to jump, sometimes they do not allow if low tide.

Continue driving through the circumferential road and stop by the footbridge of Cangmalalag. you can see these few footbridges along the highway. The cover page was taken during the sunset.

San Juan Beach in Siquijor is also an open beach. Most of the hotels, hostels, and homestays are located here. The beach is good for chillin', but not too much for a swim.

This church will welcome you once you arrive in Siquijor Port. The number of churches on the island means communities of Catholics, do not worry too much about witchcraft and sorcery. 

I asked locals of their favorite or most recommended beach in Siquijor, a lot of them answered Paliton and Salagdoong Beach. But there are also locals who recommend the beach beside the cemetery. Scary? Nah. The entrance is just beside the cemetery, but the beachfront is not. The sand here is fine, and water is just okay for a swim.

You can rent a motorbike in Siquijor for Php350/day. There are plenty of motorbikes for hire at the port. If you don't drive, you may hire a tricycle for a day tour. Haggle for the rate, mostly starts at Php1200/day. Make sure to include all the destinations you want

This coffee shop has a cool view of Siquijor. You may enjoy your afternoon tea or coffee while watching the sunset here. Just be careful going back to town proper at night because the road is not well lit.

Siquijor is also known as a mystic island because of stories about witchcraft and sorcery. Nothing to be afraid of. These are stories we hear from our grandparents when we were kids. Siquijor is known for its friendly locals.

There is a night market in Siquijor town that opens at 5 pm. They serve barbeques, hot soup, and grilled catch of the day. The location is along the highway, by the seaside.
